It was reported that reality star and beloved TV personality Big Ang, of VH1’s Mob Wives, passed away February 17th, 2016.  However, despite the flood of media reports that came in Wednesday night, sources close to the family say this is NOT true and even released a statement via Ang’s twitter account.

Big Ang, known for her voluptuous bosom and endearing raspy vocal chords, was diagnosed with lung cancer in March of 2015 after finding a massive tumor in her throat. She underwent two surgeries to remove the cancerous tumor and all seemed to be well until December of 2015 when Ang learned that the cancer had not only returned, but that she also had Stage IV lung and brain cancer.

The lovable lady gangster has put on a brave front, despite reports of chemo-therapy is not working for her. She even recently appeared on the Dr. Oz show to share her journey through this trying ordeal and even spilled some TEA about her personal life  with husband Neil Murphy and her recent decision to leave him. Ang told Dr. Oz “I felt like he never stepped up to the plate, so I was done with it,” she went on to say “Now, it’s too late. I would rather be by myself. I would rather be alone.”

To say Big Ang is a tough broad is an understatement and she is not going out without a fight. Big Ang’s family has even started a GoFundMe campaign to help raise funds for her doctor fees, with a current total of $45,000 collected. Ang is currently in the hospital fighting for her life and we at TEAm Curtains are praying for her and her family during this difficult time.

UPDATE:

It is with sad regret that we inform you that at 3:01AM Angela Raiola peacefully ended her battle with cancer, and was called home. She was surrounded by nothing but love from her husband Neil, her immediate family, and closest friends. YOU, (Her fans) were some of the most special people in her world, and she loved you immensely. Thank you for your love, prayers, and unconditional support of Angela right to the very end. She truly went out richer than any monetary value could ever amount to. The family asks for privacy, and peace during this most difficult time. In typical Big Ang fashion, we know she would say "Love you my babies!" This page will remain open as a celebration of who she was and will always be. It has been my esteemed privilege, and honor to represent her in the highest regard via social media. -Vinnie Medugno (@vinniemedugno)
