Yikes! Bill Cosby Sues Beverly Johnson For Defamation & Beverly Responds Team Curtains December 22, 2015 Details have emerged that actor Bill Cosby has filed a lawsuit for defamation against model/ actress Beverly Johnson in the Superior Court of California on Monday. Bill is going after her for her alleged false, malicious and defamatory accusations that he drugged her. The Comedian/ Philanthropist sues through his attorneys, for defamation, citing emotional distress. According to Tattletailzz, Cosby has pled that Johnson’s story was a lie. Well, not only is Bill asking for punitive damages, he is also demanding that Johnson will publicly retract her false accusations and to remove all unsold copies of her memoir The Face That Changed It All: A Memoir, from bookshelves until the mention of his name is removed. The document reads: “Suing defendant for defamation, defamation per se, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, Mr. Cosby states that he never drugged defendant and her story is a lie. The suit further states that defendant’s entirely fabricated accusations are nothing more than an opportunistic attempt to resuscitate her own career and benefit herself financially from the wave of media attention surrounding her false allegations against Mr. Cosby, including the use of that attention as a basis to generate interest in, and promote sales of her recently published memoir, which devotes an entire chapter to the same lies about Mr. Cosby drugging her that she has repeated to every media publication, newspaper, magazine, or TV show that will hear her, including Vanity Fair, People, The View, Nightline, Good Morning America, Dr. Phil, Larry King Now and various online outlets. Mr. Cosby’s complaint further states that defendant, no stranger to making salacious public allegations even before her false assertions about Mr. Cosby, made all of her fabricated statements against Mr. Cosby with full knowledge of their falsity. Mr. Cosby brings this lawsuit to seek redress for the injury and damages caused by defendant’s malicious and unlawful conduct. Mr. Cosby now requests that the court award him compensatory and punitive damages, a permanent injunction enjoining defendant from continuing to publish her defamatory statements, and an injunction requiring defendant to publically issue a statement and press release retracting and correcting her defamatory statements, including removal of the chapter on Mr. Cosby from future distribution of defendant’s memoir and for unsold copies of the defendant’s memoir with the chapter on Mr. Cosby to be removed from circulation.” But this is not the first time Johnson has previously spoken on other men assaulting or abusing her. The 63-year old previously accused her former boyfriends Christopher Noth “Mr. Big” from HBO’s “Sex In The City” and Mark Burk of abuse, which she was later sued for by her ex. Book Party for Beverly Johnson’s True Beauty on June 21, 1994 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. In cases of rape and abuse, abusers will do whatever they can to intimidate and weaken… — Beverly Johnson (@BeverlyJohnson1) December 22, 2015 This looks like something that will be drawn out and may turn ugly!
