Dismissed… Oprah Winfrey Says He Is Not Her Son! Team Curtains October 31, 2015 Oprah Winfrey has dismissed reports suggesting she was ambushed earlier this month by a man who claimed to be her ‘secret this month by a man who claimed to be her ‘secret son’ in New York while leaving the set of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. This mysterious man, Calvin Mitchell was photographed with the TV host as she attempted to deal with him, during an awkward encounter outside the Ed Sullivan Theater on October 15th. She confirmed that he’s in fact not her birth son. They both met in the early 1990s and Oprah was charmed, she decided to mentor him, help his family and enrolled him in a private school twice, but he dropped at the age of 17. ‘If you leave this school, I am done. There is nothing else I can do.’ This was her last conversation with Calvin in the early ’90s.’ According to Entertainment Tonight, the media mogul revealed that she didn’t immediately recognize Mitchell, and giving more details about their encounter, she said: “We were shooting in the projects in Chicago and I was sitting on set during a break, and this cute little sparkly-eyed boy came underneath the yellow tape to hand me a soda. I was so charmed by him that I started talking to him about his family, his school life, and found out that he was in a situation where his mother didn’t have a job and they were stuck in the projects.” She did all she could to ensure that he could live healthily, and today when she found out that their recent encounter was a set-up and that he had sold his story to the tabloids. She cut him out of her life! Did she do the right thing?
