Elijah Blake Bags New Role In Second Season of Empire? Team Curtains June 15, 2015 R&B newcomer Elijah Blake prepares his acting skills for season two of FOX hit TV show Empire, so we were told this weekend… Staff from FOX’s hit show Empire are spilling major casting news surrounding its second season. A source close to the show’s production team told Team Curtains exclusively that the ‘I Just Wanna‘ singer has been ushered in to join Jussie Smollett, Taraji P Henson, Terrence Howard & the rest Lyons family as a young musical prodigy from whose gold-digging mother claims he is none other than Lucious’ son. The storyline will centre on his mother’s plans to use him to get what is rightfully his and the drama that comes when Cookie learns of the threat he may pose to her sons and their company. According to our source the mother will make an Alexis Carrington style entry to the series mid-season and that LisaRaye McCoy is being considered for the role. We were told that the series recently put out a casting call to find a child to play a younger version of Elijah’s character, so we did a bit of digging for ourselves, and we found this casting call which confirmed their news: Empire’ Season 2 Speaking Role Casting Call for Kid Actors. Apparently, Empire’s co-creator Danny Strong is also keen to have Elijah collaborate on original songs for the show after hearing his debut album ‘Shadows & Diamonds,’ which is due later this month, on June 23rd.
