Are you as excited as we are?

Yes it’s true, FOX’s Empire is set to return this fall for an 18 episode 2-part second season – we are majorly hyped and ready for it!

Miss Cookie and clan will return to television screens in the U.S. later this year after receiving a rave of reviews and viewership during its first season’s airings.

It also appears that a few more heavyweights are to join the cast for the upcoming season, these include songstress Alicia Keys, rockstar Lenny Kravitz and comedian Chris Rock. May we not forgot that is in addition to series originals Gabourey Sidibe, Ta’Rhonda Jones and Becky Taylor who have all been promoted with more screen time this new season. This is a good look for the girls, as we love their characters so it’s definitely exciting to know there will be more laughs to come.

If you follow singer/actress Brandy on social media, you may have noticed that she has been brushing shoulders with the likes of Empire’s show runner Lee Daniels and some of the cast members of the hit TV drama.

This is for sure a little more than just rubbing shoulders, as Brandy attended FOX’s Upfront event, along with other Empire cast members; should we take this as confirmation that one of our favourite vocalists will be joining the shows ever-growing list of guest stars? If so, stay winning Moesha, because this plus her debut on the Broadway stage in Chicago, it’s fair to say things are looking pretty good for Ms. Norwood on the acting side. Wonder what that means for Brandy’s next studio album, whenever that may be, as she is clearly booked… guess we’ll wait patiently as Lee Daniels and the Empire team continue to expand the shows talent.

We all know that Timbaland is behind the music on the show and will continue to be for the second season. Word has it that singer/songwriter Ne-Yo is said to join him – that’s a good look!

In the interim, enjoy live performances from the Empire stars. Watch “You’re So Beautiful” performed live on Good Morning America, below:
