The Queen of Neo-Soul Erykah Badu releases full details of her new mixtape & unveils the cover art.

Ms. Badu had previously shared her cover of Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ remix ‘Cell U Lar Device‘ and ‘Phone Down’ via social media, songs which will be included on her new mixtape titled But You Caint Use My Phone. The new record is set to be released on Black Friday, November 27th, exclusively on iTunes/ Apple Music, and elsewhere on December 4th.

This new project is a follow-up to her 2010 release New Amerykah Part Two: Return
Of The Ankh.

The title of that mixtape is a reference to Erykah’s 1997 complete freestyle and biggest
record track ‘Tyrone,’ which was written and recorded in only 12 days with the help of
producer Zach Witnessing in Badu’s hometown Dallas. Rumour has it that few guests
are promised to join the project. Take a look at the cover art and tracklist below:

1. Caint Use My Phone Suite
2. Hi
3. Cell U Lar Device
4. Phone Down
5. U Use to Call Me
6. Mr. Telephone Man
7. U Don’t Have To Call
8. What’s Your Phone Number
9. Dial’afreaq
10. I’ll Call U Back
11. Hello

Listen: Erykah Badu collaborates with her ex- Andre 3000 – ‘Hello’

During an interview for Complex, when asked who her favourite rapper is? Her answer was quite hilarious:

I don’t have a favorite rapper, I have three baby-daddy rappers, so I can’t pick one or you’re messing with my child support!” With that said, Andre 3000 seems to have a dear place in her heart and the best thing about him is that “His checks never bounce,” she said.

Badu took on the role as this years host for the 2015 Soul Train Awards, which airs state side on November 29th & elsewhere, on November 30th, on television network BET. If you’ve been waiting for her performance with heated breath, we may have a treat for you. Watch Erykah perform “Phone Down,” at the award show here!

While we await the full awards show, we can at least enjoy the ‘Annie Dont Wear No Panties’ singer’s first ever appearance on The Breakfast Club.
