This week we saw a couple of things unfold on social media which we may not have seen coming, and Kim Kardashians naked selfie isn’t one of them.

By now, we probably all know that Kim K posted a censored naked selfie earlier this week via her Instagram page. Let’s face, the world we live in today all the Kardiashian’s have to do is sneeze and the media will report on it. In this case, this was no sneeze and it was more than the media who had a thing or two to say about it.

When you’re like I have nothing to wear LOL

Our first thought was, really Kim…again?? It is no secret that Kanye’s 35-year-old wife has a huge fan base and is loved by many, but she has her fair amount of people who might not dig her as much. Is this a prime example for the cause of  all the hate.

Well, there was more than a few who may have just had enough of seeing Kim’s perfectly designed body.

Our question is does Kim thrive off of it all, because there is very little doubt that she didn’t know there would be a backlash from this selfie, as there always is when Kimberley gets naked. Even celebrities took to their Twitter pages to share their thoughts on the popular Instagram post which currently stands as having over 1.5 million likes.

This isn’t so shocking really, as this is the same world we live in is one where Donald Trump is an actual popular political candidate for the U.S. Presidency and Beyonce is called a racist for putting a pro-black message in a song.

British journalist Piers Morgan, actress Chloe Moretz and the most popular of all the tweets, Bette Midler,  all chimed in on the latest controversial offering from Mrs.West, to all whom Kim actually ‘clapped’ back at if you will. If you don’t already follow Bette, you probably should, her tweets are funny the best of times.

The twitter responses seemed so out of character for the Mother of two that some even felt it may have been Kanye West posing as his wife in the tweets. In what some referred to as a Kanye type rant, Kim herself confirmed sending  the tweets herself and explaining that she too can be funny at times.

The following day, which just happened to be International Women’s Day, saw the reality star take to her website to post an open letter to do something she very rarely does, respond to the backlash:

Hey, guys. I wanted to write a post elaborating on my tweets last night. In all seriousness, I never understand why people get so bothered by what other people choose to do with their lives.

I don’t do drugs, I hardly drink, I’ve never committed a crime—and yet I’m a bad role model for being proud of my body?

It always seems to come back around to my sex tape. Yes, a sex tape that was made 13 years ago. 13 YEARS AGO. Literally that lonnng ago. And people still want to talk about it?!?!

I lived through the embarrassment and fear, and decided to say who cares, do better, move on. I shouldn’t have to constantly be on the defense, listing off my accomplishments just to prove that I am more than something that happened 13 years ago.

Let’s move on, already. I have.

I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin. I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me. And I hope that through this platform I have been given, I can encourage the same empowerment for girls and women all over the world.

I am empowered by my husband, who is so accepting and supportive and who has given me a new found confidence in myself. He allows me to be me and loves me unconditionally.

I feel so lucky to have grown up surrounded by strong, driven, independent women. The life lessons I’ve learned from my sisters, my mother and my grandmother, I will pass along to my daughter. I want her to be proud of who she is. I want her to be comfortable in her body. I don’t want her to grow up in a world where she is made to feel less-than for embracing everything it means to be a woman.

It’s 2016. The body-shaming and slut-shaming—it’s like, enough is enough. I will not live my life dictated by the issues you have with my sexuality. You be you and let me be me.

I am a mother. I am a wife, a sister, a daughter, an entrepreneur and I am allowed to be sexy.

Over the years there has been endless reminders of Kim Kardashian’s sextape with ex-boyfriend Ray J, she is never given a moment where people will not remind her of her rise to fame.

We’re hardly given a moment or the opportunity to forget ourselves, with Kim fueling the fire with naked/semi-naked shoots. But it is crazy to think that whole thing happened 13-years-ago. Damn, has Ray J been famous for 13 years longer than he deserves?

Well, here is where things really took an unexpected turn. Pop star Pink posted an International Women’s Day post which seemed ever so slightly indirectly talking about Kim Kardashian’s selfie…and Amber Rose, Kim’s one time nemesis was not here for it and thought she’d take Pink down memory lane.

Damn Pink we were all born naked society sexualizes our breast and bodies. If a grown mother of 2 is comfortable with her body and wants to show it off that’s none of ur business or anyone else’s. Now, if u wanna talk to kids and be a mentor to young teens, tell them to go to school and to not use their bodies to get ahead?! I’m all for it! But please as a grown woman let another grown woman live as she wishes. That’s our problem! We’re so quick to down each other instead of uplifting! Pink, We’ve seen u damn near naked swinging from a rope( Beautifully) but what’s the difference between a rope, a pole and a pic on Instagram? Classism. Because u sing while ur half naked does that make it “Classy” or is it because u have a “talent”? I’m not dissing at all Pink just curious after u said “You’ll never have to make a silly excuse for yourself”.

And if you thought that was something, to add just a little more shock value, Amber invited Kim and her sisters to speak at her slut-shaming Slut Walk event.

And @kimkardashian I don’t know u well but I saw u speak about slut shaming and as u know I’m an activist feminist so it spoke to me. Being Slut shamed and ridiculed is not fun it’s hurtful and mean. Us women deal with it everyday and I’m happy u can speak openly on this now because if anyone knows what it’s like to be Slut Shamed it’s u! Live it Kim! Make a difference and speak on it! Not only when it’s convenient for u but when u can help others. Last year at my Slutwalk I told my Slut shaming story. This year I would love for u to come and tell urs. This is an open invite from me to u and ur sisters are welcomed too 😊 Let’s let the naysayers know u are so much more then a sex tape (13 years ago) 🙄 fuck it own it. Ur a mom and a business woman, a wife, sister and daughter. Hope we can make this happen #AmberRoseSlutWalk2016

It would appear that on this occasion Amber Rose is #teamKardashian. Who would have seen this day come?
