Rapper and Mogul Jay-Z has finally come out of hiding since his superstar wife, Beyoncé spilled the tea (with a side of lemon) on their relationship in her latest visual album, Lemonade.

The ‘99 problems’ rapper recently appeared on a remix to Fat Joe’s hit single ‘All The Way Up’ where he references his wife’s much talked about HBO special, that led many to believe that there may have been trouble in paradise for Mr. and Mrs. Carter.

In Jay-Z’s verse he raps: “You know you made it when the fact/Your marriage made it is worth millions/Lemonade is a popular drink and it still is”. This not only a reference to Beyonce’s widely successful sixth studio album but also a nod to the song by Gang Starr called ‘DWYCK’, that features a similar lyric: “Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is. I get more props and stunts than Bruce Willis”.

The song also mentions the late great artist/musician Prince, in which the multi-millionaire MC raps: “Prince left his masters where they safe and sound. We never gonna let the elevator take him down.” Hmm… now we’re not sure if Jay is referencing the way in which the iconic singer passed away (found in an elevator at his home) or if the rapper is referring to his own personal incident with Beyonce’s sister, Solange. We all remember what went down in THAT elevator. (We’re sure Jay-Z remembers too)

Nice!

While he didn’t fully delve into the controversy that Lemonade has stirred up, it’s nice to hear him somewhat speak on the situation. We’re sure that this is only a teaser for what is to come as we hear that Beyonce and Jay-Z have completed a secret joint-album where they address the many stories and rumors that have surrounded their marriage for the past few years.

According a report from Page Six, a source tells them that the power couple plans on releasing their newly finished joint album very soon as a TIDAL exclusive to answer all of the questions about their marriage that have spawned since the release of Lemonade. The source further clarified by saying that Bey and Jay would never do interviews to address these questions but rather “It’s more their style to respond through music.”

While no details have been confirmed about this possible secret joint album, we are still excited just at the thought of it. Maybe we’ll even find out who “Becky” is…
