Did Mimi fall at the first hurdle? Well, the answer to that would be no, well not exactly.

Last week Mariah Carey left fans disappointed and angry after cancelling one of the nights of her multi-million dollar residency at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, just a week into her residency. The last-minute cancellation was the result of her Doctors order to go on vocal rest after the supreme diva developed an unfortunate case of Bronchitis. For her fans the news came not only on a scheduled concert day but the fact they were greeted with the news on arrival to the venue only added insult to injury.

Excited would-be concert goers had the news broken to them by a note left at the box office on Wednesday 13th May. A fan who was looking forward to the performance from the power vocalist informed us that ushers were instead present, giving the disappointed fans a sheet of paper which stated that the cancellation was due to Mariah being “ill”. The fans were given information on how to get a refund, and where to buy future tickets.

We’re just going to take a guess that the information on how to buy another ticket probably wasn’t what was on their minds at the time after receiving the news.

As you can imagine there were fans from all over the world who had planned on seeing Mariah in her big Vegas residency concert, some taking flights out and booking hotel stays just to see the ‘Shake It Off‘ singer.

The ‘Infinity’ singer posted an apology for her fans, which she calls Lambily or her Lambs, with a more informative explanation of the cancelled performance to her social media.

Although they may have not been pleased some fans sent messages wishing the singer a speedy recovery all the same.

Timing came just days before the release of Mariah’s album ‘#1 To Infinity‘, although maybe for the best as the singer was set to perform at the high-profile Billboard Music Awards just a few days later. Thankfully, Mariah attended and performed at the BBMAs. Catch the whistle not singers performance here:

Hot on the promo trail for her new album the next day Mariah stopped by the Jimmy Kimmel Live show to perform “Vision of Love” and “Infinity“, see below:

Clearly not in full vocal health but neither the less the 18-hit chart topper is still able to deliver solid promo performances to assist the new album. Did you buy ‘#1 To Infinity‘?
