Missy Elliott’s Super Bowl Appearance Impacts iTunes Chart Team Curtains February 3, 2015 Missed Missy Elliott? …us too! Well she’s back, or at least her music is! After stealing the show at this years Super Bowl XLIX halftime performance Missy Elliott earned herself a position in the charts once again. Viewers were feeling her performance (just as much as we did) and proved this by reinstating her chart classics back in the Top 20. Two of her hit singles ‘Work It‘, ‘Get Ur Freak On‘ gained impact in the iTunes RnB Top 10, within 24 hours of her guest performance joining Katy Perry. Note: The uptempo electronic dance heavy ‘Lose Control‘ featuring Ciara & Fat Man Scoop also popped up in iTunes chart position 12. These tracks are definitely three of our favourite Missy singles of the 00’s so should we really be surprised? Watch Missy Elliott’s guest appearance at Katy Perry’s Super Bowl performance After that performance we want more from Missy, her energy hasn’t changed and she is still able to rock the crowd. The only difference is Missy is now thim slick, after revealing new weight loss last October at BET’s Soul Train Awards. Let’s hope she also plans on revealing a release date on new album, Block Party …after all we have been waiting for over 7 years! *Snaps fingers* …yaaaass b—h yassss! Missy Elliott becomes a trending topic on Twitter, as it’s apparent that a lot of the 00’s kids didn’t even know who she was. Some even tweeting to discuss Nicki Minaj in comparison, when in reality it is artists such as Missy that have paved the way for our current female charting rappers. Peep one of Missy’s responses, below: Missy later tweeted the new fans to let them know where to find her music, on iTunes! Do you remember this video? Are you waiting on the new Missy Elliott album?
