New Empire! New Money, New Power & More Cookie Nathan Devonte July 26, 2015 And the countdown begins… Fox’s breakthrough drama is coming back. The hit show that manages to be fun and hilarious, whilst staying grounded and edgy is set to return stateside to TV screen on September 23rd. The Empire season 1 finale drew in 21.1 million viewers who tuned in to watch Cookie Lyon (played by Taraji P. Henson) & family’s drama unfold, making it the highest-rated freshman finale in 10 years! If the storylines and cliffhangers weren’t enough to keep you engaged last season, then we bet it was the celebrity guest appearances. Season 1 boasted the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Rita Ora, Estelle,Naomi Campbell and more! It appears Empire is the show that everyone wants to be apart of, and can we blame them? The star guest list seems to increase each week as we draw closer to the new season premiere. This week rapper Ludacris confirmed his upcoming appearance, posting a pic of himself and Terrence Howard (who plays Lucious Lyon) to Instagram with the caption: ‘This could get interesting’ and we’ll be seeing a lot more familiar faces, including Kelly Rowland, Chris Rock, Alicia Keys and Oprah Winfrey herself!
