A documentary on Nina Simone is on its way, titled “What happened, Miss Simone?” on Netflix from June 26th 2015 and with a Simone tribute album to follow shortly on July 10th released via RCA.

Ahead of it all one single has been revealed from the Nina Revisited: A Tribute to Nina Simone album featuring vocals from Lauryn Hill with ‘Feeling Good‘. The tribute album includes cover recordings of Simone’s most memorable songs from various soulful artists featured such as Mary J. Blige, Usher, Jazmine Sullivan and many more, including a song from Simone’s daughter Lisa.

Ms. Hill was originally only scheduled to record two songs on the complication but ended up recording six while working alongside producer Robert Glasper.

During an interview with Rolling Stone Lauryn stated;-

“Because I fed on this music, both hers and lovers like her, like my basic food, I believed I always had a right to have a voice. Her example is clearly a form of sustenance to a generation needing to find theirs. What a gift.”

We are glad to see Ms. Hill singing in the studio again. Her musical talent still amazes music lovers.
