New Music: Rihanna – ‘B*tch Better Have My Money’ Taneisha Nicole March 31, 2015 Come through trap queen Rih, come through and let live! Princess of Roc Nation Rihanna is back and finally giving us a feel of what her long-awaited ‘R8’ album will sound like, and by the sounds of her new single B*itch Better Have My Money, the Bajan beauty is serving us with just the right amount of ratchet. It’s safe to say that she most definitely got the memo after the release of single Pour It Up. The new single was produced by a host of talented producers including non other than Yeezy himself; Kanye West alongside Travis Scott, Deputy and Wonda Gurl. How is this for a marketing strategy, BBHMM was initially released via mobile app Dubsmash before being aired on radio. Kudos to her for tapping into popular current trends. Why is it that we prefer to see the ratchet side of our POP/R&B singers? Well, Rihanna herself may feel differently on this as she recently expressed it in her interview with MTV for the promotion of new animated film Home; “I’ve made a lot of songs that are really, really big songs. And I wanted to kind of get back to—not that they weren’t real music, but I just wanted to focus on things that felt real, that felt soulful, that felt forever” “I wanted songs that I could perform in 15 years; I wanted an album that I could perform in 15 years. Not any songs that were burnt out. I find that when I get on stage now, I don’t want to perform a lot of my songs. They don’t feel like me. So I want to make songs that are timeless.” Rihanna performed the new club banger this weekends iHeart Radio awards. Check the performance: Sidenote: We are definitely getting a Madonna-esque/Frida Kahlo vibe from Rih Rih’s fierce eyebrows on the single cover…LOVE. Only she can pull those brows off these days, well apart from Cara Delevinge. Take a listen to the audio of BBHMM, below: So now tell us hit or miss?
