Watch SNL Sketch: “The Day Beyoncé Turned Black” Team Curtains February 14, 2016 Beyonce snatched wigs and also ruffled a few feathers last week when she released her latest song ‘Formation‘ which has a powerful “Black Lives Matter” message. Queen Bey followed this up with a performance at the Super Bowl Half-time Show where her backing dancers were dressed in all black with berets – a nod to the Black Panthers. For the most part Formation has received great feedback – the video has racked up 24 million views on YouTube despite being unlisted – but there were some who were upset with the song and video clip where Bey celebrates her roots singing, “My daddy Alabama, Momma Louisiana. You mix that negro with that Creole make a Texas bama!” Even former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani accused the ‘Irreplaceable’ singer of using the Super Bowl platform to “attack police officers.” Saturday Night Live took the opportunity to point out the humour of the whole situation with a funny skit. In a spoof trailer for “The Day Beyoncé Turned Black”, white people react with shock and horror as post-Formation they discover that Beyonce is black. Watch the clip below: Shade aside, do you think the spoof trailer is spilling some truth tea?
