Willow Smith Pulled a Beyoncé And Released Fourth Album Ardipithecus Naouel Achouri December 13, 2015 After some intriguing tweets posted on twitter, the youngest of the talented Smith family, Willow Smith, Pulled a Beyoncé and released her fourth surprise album with Roc Nation five years after her famous “Whip My Hair”. Dec. 11th — Willy (@OfficialWillow) December 9, 2015 “Ardipithecus”, dropped on Friday morning, is an album of 15 new tracks where you can find the previously released “Why Don’t You Cry” and “F Q–C #8”. It can sound as a weird-named album, but it definitely has a meaning. “Ardipithecus Ramidus is the scientific name of the first hominid bones found on earth. I wanted to name my musical compilation after it because, while I was making these songs I was in such a transitional state. Digging deep in the soil of my heart and finding bits and pieces of my ancient self that tell stories, which end up being the lyrics to the songs. Ardipithecus is my first album in my entire career and it makes me feel so blessed to be able to share my evolution with the LightEaters as I continue excavating my inner worlds…” she told The Fader. <> A photo posted by ≠ ʍılloW Sɯıʇɥ ≠ (@gweelos) on Dec 11, 2015 at 8:43am PST Her songs shows how much she grown up, we can hear very adult content. “Organization & Classification” is super deep as it features controversial lyrics: “They call us w****s but it’s just because we do what just we want and don’t look back once.” and also allusion to her famous parents.“My parents are one and two and I am their child, I am three. I am the wild, I am free.” she sings. F Q-C #8, the companion to “F Q–C #7” that she put out last April, is a groovy and upbeat which reminds us of a Kanye’s “Addiction” instrumental. A music video for the energetic “Why Don’t You Cry” was released in September, in collaboration with i-D magazine. A visual in which you can see Teenage against family conflict. She wants to be an artist but her parents disagree. She lives her life very strictly and she suppresses all of her negative emotions towards them. She never cries. They rip up the invitation to her performance that night, telling her she will never going to succeed in an artistic career and that kind of behavior isn’t acceptable in their household – “She is just a child.” The girl ignores them and does what her heart is telling. Small aside, 14 songs of this album were written by the 15 year old artist herself and she also produced 10 of them! She shared the cover artwork of her new album made by Oscar Cash on her instagram account. <ARDIPITHECUS RAMIDUS> // the first hominid bones found on Earth (supposedly 😉 // I can't express how relieved I am to finally give my LightEaters my most recent inner excavation.
